Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic adjustments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain OSHA compliance protocols
- Take accurate dental radiographs and perform chairside assistance during exams
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle digital charting using Dentrix software
- Administer anesthesia monitoring and emergency response protocols
- Train new assistants on clinic-specific procedures and equipment
- Order inventory and manage supply chain for dental materials
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in digital radiography and imaging software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Valid Texas state dental assistant license
