Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with instruments, materials, and equipment; ensure proper sterilization of dental instruments.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Take and develop dental x-rays (radiographs) and process diagnostic images.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and schedule follow-up appointments accurately.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and provide post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
- Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting (DANB or equivalent).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a dental office preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform fine motor skills.
- Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
