Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and organized.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, explain procedures, and provide post-operative instructions to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and cross-contamination prevention standards to maintain a safe environment.
- Radiography: Perform and develop digital X-rays, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including dental histories and treatment plans.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and equipment as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current State of Missouri Dental Assistant license or equivalent certification (e.g., DANB).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
