Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and submit medical insurance claims to various payers.
- Review and resolve denied claims and initiate appeals processes.
- Communicate with patients and insurance providers regarding billing inquiries and statements.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient and insurance records in our EHR system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing policies.
- Perform regular audits of billing data to identify errors and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Certification (CPC, CPC-H, COC, RHIT, RHIA) is a plus but not required.
- Proficient in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service oriented mindset.
