Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with precision and confidence.
- Patient Management: Prepare patients for treatment, explain procedures, and ensure a calming environment.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization, disinfection, and maintaining a sterile operatory.
- Digital Records: Maintain accurate patient charts, update medical histories, and manage digital records using practice management software.
- Radiography: Perform and process dental X-rays (digital and film) following safety protocols.
- Front Desk Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, managing phone inquiries, and processing insurance claims.
- Supply Management: Monitor and restock dental materials and instruments to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Skills: Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, coronal polishing, and taking accurate impressions.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Software: Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
