Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and scheduling appointments.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Monitor patient comfort and assist with chair-side anesthesia when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Current New York State Dental Assistant license required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and modern equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.
