Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficient workflow.
- Patient Care: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and prepare treatment rooms for patients.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and disinfection protocols.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and process insurance claims accurately.
- Oral Health Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Lab Duties: Fabricate temporary crowns and pour models as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Certification: Current state licensure as a Dental Assistant (RDA) or DANB certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a dental office setting.
- CPR Certification: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor.
