Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures using 4-handed dentistry techniques.
- Patient Care: Comfort and educate patients before, during, and after dental procedures; maintain a calming environment.
- Radiography: Take and develop digital X-rays and ensure all images meet diagnostic standards.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile operatory.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate patient charts, medical histories, and treatment plans.
- Lab Duties: Prepare temporary crowns, impressions, and perform basic dental lab work as directed.
- Front Desk Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, confirming recalls, and processing insurance claims.
Qualifications
- License & Certification: Current Dental Assistant license in the state of Kentucky; current Radiography certification is required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and digital imaging systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and committed to patient privacy (HIPAA compliant).
