Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and ensure proper infection control protocols
- Manage patient flow, sterilize instruments, and maintain operatory readiness
- Take accurate dental impressions and fabricate temporary crowns/bridges
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide under supervision
- Implement digital charting and practice management software
- Train new staff on HIPAA compliance and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program certification (CODA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification and radiology license
- Expertise in digital imaging (DEXIS, Carestream) and Eaglesoft software
- Exceptional chairside demeanor and patient communication skills
- Proven ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of dental insurance verification processes
- Commitment to continuing education in dental advancements
