Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging systems
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization of instruments per OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for optimal clinical efficiency
- Perform chairside assistance with suctioning, retraction, and material placement
- Document patient care accurately in electronic dental records (EDR) systems
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
- Coordinate with front desk for seamless patient flow and appointment management
Qualifications
- Active RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) or DA (Dental Assistant) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Certification in dental radiography and coronal polishing required
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and OSHA compliance
- Excellent communication skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
