Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient monitoring
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols
- Perform infection control and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment
- Manage patient records and digital charting using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory of dental supplies
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and front desk coverage as needed
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DALEA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to put anxious patients at ease
- Experience with digital charting systems (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
