Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction control, and patient comfort management
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA protocols
- Manage sterilization processes and maintain OSHA-compliant operatory setups
- Implement infection control protocols and HIPAA-compliant record management
- Conduct patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with scheduling and inventory management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- No prior dental experience necessary – training provided
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Detail-oriented approach to infection control and documentation
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Pass background check and drug screening
