Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and patient comfort in mind
- Manage patient records and digital charting using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Coordinate treatment plans and educate patients on oral hygiene best practices
- Maintain inventory control and order dental supplies efficiently
- Ensure operatory cleanliness and infection control standards are met at all times
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and dental software systems
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Valid North Carolina dental radiography permit
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with physical stamina
