Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with the utmost respect and dignity.
- Medication Reminders: Prompt clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any side effects or missed doses to the case manager.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that adhere to specific dietary restrictions and health needs.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities to combat loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light cleaning tasks.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social outings using a reliable vehicle.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record client health status, including blood pressure, weight, and general condition.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Certification: Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) certification is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance are required.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist with transferring patients (weight capacity required).
- Compassion: Genuine empathy, patience, and a caring attitude toward the elderly and disabled population.
