Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments via phone or in-person to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Utilize clinical protocols and decision-making skills to prioritize patient care and recommend appropriate next steps.
- Evaluate and document patient symptoms, medical history, and vital signs accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff and providers to facilitate efficient workflow in the triage center.
- Provide health education and wellness guidance to patients to promote preventative care.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a clinical triage or emergency room setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.
