Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Provide basic bedside care and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful times.
- Communicate changes in a patient’s condition, mood, or behavior to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, meals, or therapy sessions using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on best practices in patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid State of Missouri CNA Certification (or eligibility to obtain one).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs safely.
- Basic computer literacy for entering patient data and documentation.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a detail-oriented work ethic.
