Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, including bed making and room sanitation.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and physicians regarding patient status and care needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; CNA certification preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Willingness to complete state-required CNA training program and pass the state exam upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Basic computer literacy for navigating electronic health records systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
