Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely between beds, wheelchairs, and walking aids to prevent falls and injuries.
- Administer Medications: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), assist patients with their prescribed medications and document administration.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, listening to their concerns and ensuring they feel comfortable and respected.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including care plans and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited CNA program is a plus for entry-level applicants.
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of California.
- Experience: No prior experience required; we welcome new graduates and career changers.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and patient hygiene practices.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and transfer patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and a strong desire to help others.
