Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and patient examinations
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen processing
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and clinical inventory
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification preferred
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation
