Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare patients for examinations and take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight)
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests including EKGs and phlebotomy
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Sterilize medical instruments and prepare exam rooms
- Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact compassionately with diverse patients
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
