Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and patient examinations
- Prepare patients for treatments, take vital signs, and collect lab specimens
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain patient confidentiality
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with minor wound care
- Schedule appointments, handle phone triage, and manage front desk operations
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and compliant with OSHA standards
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and preventive care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred but not required for entry-level
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced medical setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
