Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and escort them to exam rooms, taking basic vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) prior to the provider's arrival.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring supplies are stocked.
- Assist providers with basic medical procedures, patient examinations, and minor office procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks, including blood draws and specimen collection, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle incoming phone calls, and manage patient follow-ups.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for all.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting patients or equipment.
- Reliable transportation is required for this role.
