Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient exams, take vitals, and prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies.
- Testing: Perform basic diagnostic tests such as EKGs, spirometry, and point-of-care testing under supervision.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples and process them for laboratory analysis.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and comfort with technology.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Professionalism: Strong work ethic and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
