What You'll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in our daily operations, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Assist physicians and nurses during patient exams and procedures, taking detailed notes.
- Perform routine patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and EKGs.
- Manage patient intake, including updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Instruct patients on medications and prepare prescriptions under physician supervision.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with basic laboratory tasks and specimen collection.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to patients.
- Attitude: A professional, empathetic, and detail-oriented demeanor with a strong willingness to learn.
- Reliability: Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
