Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage the front desk check-in process with efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate) and updating medical histories.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including urine analysis, EKGs, and assisting with blood draws.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage prescription refills, and route referrals.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification is a plus but not required for entry-level applicants.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic health records is highly desirable.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
