Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Vitals & Measurements: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies, ensuring strict sterilization protocols are followed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and verifying insurance information.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood draws or urine analysis, under the supervision of a licensed technician.
- Communication: Clearly communicate treatment plans and medication instructions to patients in a friendly and understandable manner.
- Assistance: Provide general support to the front desk and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; willing to obtain CMA or RMA certification within 6 months of employment.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (training provided for entry-level).
- Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
