Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies using Epic EMR systems
- Verify patient demographics and insurance coverage details
- Follow up on claim denials and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance standards and privacy regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing-related questions
- Utilize denial analysis tools to identify process improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn complex medical terminology and coding systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Customer service mindset with problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to obtain AAPC certification within first year of employment
