Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following strict safety protocols
- Prepare and maintain sterile equipment and specimen containers
- Ensure accurate patient identification and documentation
- Provide compassionate care to patients of diverse backgrounds
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory departments
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Participate in ongoing skills development and training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary – training provided
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtainable within 30 days)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Background check and drug screen required
- Washington State phlebotomy certification preferred (training provided)
