Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in assigned clinical unit while adhering to evidence-based practices
- Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations with precise documentation
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and response to interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and regulatory compliance
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia (or compact license)
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- ACLS/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Completion of clinical rotation in acute care setting
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic proficiency with electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
