Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by interviewing, observing, and examining patients.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, progress, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, and home care instructions.
- Respond to patient emergencies and assist with code blue situations.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as necessary.
