Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track surgical supplies, sutures, and equipment before and after operations
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and sterilize reusable equipment
- Document procedural details and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock operating rooms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No prior surgical tech experience required (training provided)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique awareness
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- CPR certification required (will be provided if needed)
- Background check and drug screen required
