Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Account for surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely and efficiently
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in continuing education to maintain clinical competence
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical experience necessary – we provide training!
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to obtain AST certification within 12 months of hire
- Background check and drug screen required
