Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations and extractions
- Take precise dental radiographs and maintain digital imaging systems
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using OSHA protocols
- Manage patient records and schedule appointments using Dentrix software
- Provide post-op care instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order supplies and maintain inventory for 5 operatories
- Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- 2+ years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Excellent knowledge of infection control standards
- Strong communication skills for patient education
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Valid Virginia dental radiography permit
