Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during procedures including four-handed dentistry and chairside support
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and perform intraoral photography
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate digital records
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order inventory and manage dental supply chain efficiently
- Assist with front desk duties including check-in/out and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar practice management software
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create rapport with anxious patients
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
