Join our award-winning emergency department as a Triage Nurse with comprehensive paid training! Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols (ESI, EMTALA)
- Prioritize patients based on acuity while maintaining accurate documentation in Epic EHR
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff for seamless care coordination
- Provide clear communication to patients/families regarding wait times and treatment plans
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and state regulatory standards
- Participate in trauma activations and mass casualty incident drills
- Mentor new staff during orientation period post-training
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license (or compact license with quick TX endorsement)
- Minimum 1 year ER or urgent care experience (new graduates with externships welcome)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (or commitment to obtain during training)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-acuity situations
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Willingness to complete paid training program (4 weeks, 40 hrs/week)
