Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to ALARA principles
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures to meet OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for efficient patient flow
- Provide chairside support including suctioning, retraction, and patient comfort measures
- Maintain accurate digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Deliver exceptional pre/post-op instructions and patient education
Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Dental Assistant Radiology certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Proficient with dental practice management software
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
