Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize medical urgency using established protocols
- Provide expert telephone triage to patients and healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate patient disposition
- Document all assessments and interventions in electronic health records
- Coordinate care transitions between departments and external facilities
- Maintain accurate statistical data for departmental reporting
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- Triage certification or equivalent training
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
