Responsibilities
- Chairside assistance during dental procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and endodontic treatments
- Exposure and processing of dental radiographs with digital and traditional systems
- Instrument sterilization and OSHA compliance management
- Patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Digital charting using Eaglesoft practice management software
- Inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
- Coordination of patient flow and appointment scheduling flexibility
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant certification or DANB eligibility
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in digital radiography and infection control protocols
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed (avg. 25-30 hrs/week)
- Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking in fast-paced environments
