Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, crowns, and orthodontic applications
- Take and develop dental radiographs with digital imaging systems
- Manage patient charts and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following OSHA protocols
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide monitoring (certified)
- Train new dental assistants on practice protocols and software systems
- Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations and billing
Qualifications
- Current Texas Dental Assistant certification and radiology license
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification maintained through Red Cross or equivalent
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar practice management software
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and potential call rotations
- Exceptional chairside manner with ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in infection control
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
