Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with minimal patient discomfort
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records using our HIPAA-compliant remote documentation system
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling
- Collaborate with lab teams to resolve specimen collection issues
- Adhere to OSHA and CLIA compliance standards for safety and quality
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or CPT1)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical blood collection experience
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Exceptional communication skills for remote patient interactions
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
- Valid CPR certification
- Reliable internet connection for remote work requirements
- Must reside within 50 miles of Santa Ana for occasional on-site visits
