Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures, including instrument handling and suction management
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and care
- Manage patient records using digital dental software systems
- Provide chairside support during restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices
- Order inventory and manage supply chain for dental materials
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or Alaska-recognized equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical dental assisting experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and dental board regulations
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional Saturdays
- CPR/BLS certification (current or willing to obtain)
- Attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
