Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and dental operatory for procedures, including instrument sterilization and tray setup
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Take and develop digital dental radiographs with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient scheduling, billing inquiries, and insurance verification
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and digital charting systems
- Implement strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Train new assistants on clinic workflows and technology
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-rays) and Eaglesoft software
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Exceptional chairside manner with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration
- Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Valid Arizona dental radiography permit
