Responsibilities
- Accurately code and process medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for procedures
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes
- Conduct regular audits of billing documentation for compliance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
- Generate monthly billing reports and analytics for leadership review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR/billing systems
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and CMS regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with numerical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a flexible schedule environment
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
