Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations
- Manage inventory systems and order pharmaceutical supplies to maintain optimal stock levels
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for prescription coverage
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure prescription accuracy and safety protocols
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for order entry and prescription management
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification in Ohio (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
