Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a comfortable experience during blood collection.
- Specimen Collection: Perform venipunctures and capillary draws accurately and efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Accurately label, log, and transport blood samples to the laboratory.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sterilize phlebotomy equipment according to safety protocols.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in identifying and resolving any issues with sample integrity.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required (e.g., ASCP, NHA).
- Licensure: Valid state licensure or permit where applicable.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
