Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures adhering to OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and clean collection areas
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures with empathy
- Document collection data in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with lab teams to ensure timely specimen processing
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with EHR systems and specimen processing software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible availability including evenings/weekends
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
