Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA regulations
- Maintain sterile equipment and work environments per OSHA standards
- Document patient information and test results in EHR systems
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Participate in quality assurance and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
- CPR certification preferred
