Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments using evidence-based triage protocols
- Make critical clinical decisions regarding patient acuity and appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient interventions
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear, compassionate health education to patients and families
- Manage patient flow and coordinate with ancillary departments
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in emergency or urgent care setting
- AACN-certified Triage Nurse (preferred) or equivalent triage certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in EHR systems with strong documentation skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
