Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care: Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor patient health: Observe and report any changes in patient condition, mood, or behavior to the Registered Nurse (RN) or charge nurse immediately.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Medical Procedures: Support medical staff with basic procedures, wound care, and catheter care as directed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in compliance with facility standards.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to strict hygiene protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Texas CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical teams.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping the elderly and sick with a patient-centered approach.
