Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Medication Administration: Support the medication process by preparing and distributing medications as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility standards.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing updates on patient conditions and responding to inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized to promote a therapeutic healing environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Nebraska required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
